Now Offering Parenting Classes
Parenting might be one of the most challenging jobs of adulthood, and comes with absolutely no training. Our parenting class, Positively Parenting, incorporates a variety of research-based methods that are proven and effective to change problematic behaviors and build stronger family relationships.
Classes are 90 minutes and meet once a week for 6 weeks. Please plan to attend all classes. Participants receive a text book, a parenting workbook and participate in two private parenting consultations. The cost is $500 per family. Some insurances may pay a portion of the class. Please contact us for more information if you’d like to explore this option prior to registering. Additional parenting coaching is available for those who have completed the class. Class sizes are limited in order to offer a more personalized experience. Register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot.

Meet Jesse and Julie
The Heatons began parenting before they even had children of their own, starting at Girls and Boys Town of Nevada and eventually Westridge Academy in West Jordan, UT. Over the course of 5 years, they worked with over 100 teenage girls and boys.
In addition to Jesse’s professional degrees in mental health, he is eight times certified in the Teaching Family Model, and has been working with children and families in multiple capacities for various organizations for 20 years. He opened Heaton Counseling Center in 2017 and has continued to grow the practice, adding additional services, specialties and providers.
Julie is a college professor of 10+ years, currently working at Utah Valley University in the Theatre Department. An actress herself, she has spent her career coaching and teaching actors, which is oddly similar to coaching and teaching parents! She is two times certified in the Teaching Family Model and an expert on all things “Heaton Children Shenanigans.”
As we like to say in our house, “laugh out loud so you don’t cry.” There is hope! Join us.
